On 3 March, the first World Café workshop of the TiCCA4DANU project was held in Debrecen, bringing together representatives of local and regional organizations to address key climate adaptation challenges. Organized in close cooperation with stakeholders, the event marked an important step toward building long-term partnerships for a more climate-resilient future.
The interactive workshop focused on three priority areas: mitigating heatwaves and the urban heat island effect, improving water management and flash flood response, and strengthening green infrastructure through nature-based solutions. Participants worked in moderated groups to identify challenges and explore cooperation opportunities among municipalities, businesses, and other local actors.
During the first discussion round, participants assessed current climate challenges and highlighted where stronger collaboration is needed. The second round focused on practical responses, including pilot ideas, partnership models, and concrete short-term actions.
Participants agreed that, alongside active stakeholder engagement, real, transparent, and long-term cooperation is essential for effective climate adaptation. Further consultations will help define and implement the framework for collaboration.
