Building on its work across the Danube Region, TiCCA4DANU is preparing the next phase of its Open Discovery Process (ODP) in Suceava and the wider Nord-Est Region of Romania, with a workshop series set to begin in February 2027.

Following its engagement in city-regions across the Danube Region, the TiCCA4DANU team has turned its attention to Romania’s Nord-Est Region. The next phase of the project’s Open Discovery Process (ODP) will take place in Suceava, marking a new step in the project’s mission to strengthen climate resilience at the local and regional level.

During a preparatory meeting in Suceava, the TiCCA4DANU team met with project partners from Suceava Municipality and the North-East Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Est). Together, they laid the groundwork for the upcoming ODP workshop series, which is scheduled to begin in February 2027.

The meeting set the foundations for a collaborative process that will bring together a wide range of local and regional stakeholders around shared climate challenges.

Suceava offers a strong basis for this next phase of work. Building on the city’s clear commitment to climate action, the ODP will explore how climate resilience can be strengthened beyond the municipal level.

This means connecting local and regional authorities, research institutions, businesses and civil society, and encouraging these actors to work together around common climate challenges and opportunities. By linking the municipal and regional levels, the process aims to build resilience that reaches across administrative boundaries and reflects the realities of the wider region.

The preparatory meeting marked a promising start to the process. TiCCA4DANU looks forward to bringing the Nord-Est climate resilience community together in February 2027, opening a new chapter of collaboration in Romania’s Nord-Est Region.
