On 23 April 2026, representatives from across the Burgas District will gather at the Flora Exhibition Centre in Burgas for an Open Discovery Workshop focused on exploring joint Climate Change Adaptation measures in the region.
The event is organised by Burgas Municipality and Burgas District within the framework of the EU Horizon Europe project TiCCA4DANU – Transformative Innovation for Climate Change Adaptation in the Danube Region.
Strengthening Regional Cooperation for Climate Adaptation
The participatory session is designed for stakeholders from all 13 Municipalities in the Burgas District, including representatives of public authorities, business, academia, and civil society. Together they will learn about the latest research on district-specific climate risks and potential adaptation measures and jointly explore challenges, share perspectives, and identify emerging opportunities and solution pathways in an open, collaborative way. Project partners from the Odessa State Administration (Ukraine) and neighbouring Edirne Province (Turkey) will also take part in the co-creation exercise.
The session will provide an opportunity to review the latest research on district-specific climate risks, exchange perspectives, and explore coordinated approaches to adaptation. Through an interactive and co-creative format, participants will examine shared challenges and identify potential pathways for joint action across municipal boundaries.

The workshop will be facilitated by VDI/VDE-IT and INFRAS and will follow an open discovery methodology designed to encourage dialogue, knowledge exchange, and cross-sector collaboration.
