TICCA4DANU brings together four anchor cities in the Danube Macro-Region: Burgas in Bulgaria, Debrecen in Hungary, Maribor in Slovenia, and Suceava in Romania. Each city works closely with its surrounding region – District Burgas (BG), Hajdú-Bihar County (HU), Podravje (SI) and Nord-Est (RO).
By working with the peri-urban and rural areas, the project acknowledges the complex socio-economic, cultural, and environmental connections between urban centers and their hinterlands.
Together, these “city-regions” will develop, co-design and test new models of climate governance and policy experimentation that are grounded in respective local challenges.
