About the event

The INQUIMUS interactive conference brings together researchers, policy advisors, and practitioners to place justice at the heart of climate risk management (CRM). Across three days, participants will explore how inequities shape vulnerability and risk, and how centering justice can unlock transformative change in adaptation and risk governance. Formats include keynotes, posters, break-outs, and open-space conversations.

Why attend

  • Exchange inter- and transdisciplinary methods and tools for assessing justice in CRM.
  • Learn from empirical cases that link justice to successful adaptation.
  • Connect with a community working to increase the social and political feasibility of transformative change.

Conference themes

  1. Lost in translation: Clarifying how “justice” and “root causes” are used across CRM, DRR, and adaptation—and how they connect to transformative change.
  2. Diverse perspectives, please: Insights from critical social sciences, Indigenous and local knowledge, feminist economics, and more.
  3. Methods and tools: Qualitative, quantitative, mixed, and participatory approaches to assess justice and social vulnerability.
  4. Show me the evidence: Case studies on how justice shapes effective CRM and adaptation pathways.
  5. Call for action: informing policy and practice: Strategies to mainstream justice in policy and decision-making.

Fees

Standard registration: EUR 300 (includes catering across the program).
Reduced fee: EUR 200 for a limited number of PhD students with funding constraints.
