Open Call for Social Innovators – SIMF Scaling Programme

Social innovators working on EU Mission challenges, including climate adaptation, can join a free, EU-funded programme that helps them build skills and scale their solutions, leading to a Scaling Competition in 2027.

The SI Missions Facility (SIMF) is a Horizon Europe project run by the Impact Hub Network. It has launched an open call for social innovators to join its Training & Scaling Programme. The programme covers all five EU Missions, including Adaptation to Climate Change. Participation is free of charge.

Who can apply?

Social innovators, social entrepreneurs and mission-driven organisations can apply. This includes NGOs, associations, cooperatives, social enterprises, impact-driven businesses, and public or semi-public bodies. Organisations must be based in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country and be connected to at least one EU Mission. Early-stage ideas are welcome in the first step.

How does the programme work?

  • Step 1 – Learn & explore (open to all): an online kick-off webinar on 20 October 2026, then one webinar per Mission. The climate webinar is on 3 November 2026. All webinars run from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.
  • Step 2 – Mission-focused scaling track: one in-person national meeting and three online regional webinars, run by a Mission Hub. The climate track is hosted by Impact Hub Bucharest.
  • Step 3 – Scaling Competition (February–November 2027): this needs a separate application. 50 innovators will receive coaching, 30 scaling plans go to a public vote, and 10 finalists will be invited to an award ceremony in Italy to meet funders, investors and partners.

TiCCA4DANU works on transformative innovation for climate change adaptation in the Danube Region. Social innovators are key to helping communities adapt to climate impacts, so we encourage people in our network to take part.
