Ljubljana, Slovenia, 15 – 16 October 2025
On 15–16 October 2025, TiCCA4Danu participated in the “Partnerships for Taking Policies Towards Green Actions” conference, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, represented by our partners ICLEI, ANTEJA ECG, and Regional Development Agency for Podravje–Maribor (RRAZPM). The event, organised by the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) with support from the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy of Slovenia, brought together government representatives, experts, and practitioners from across Central and South-East Europe to explore how public institutions can accelerate the green transition.
Panel Discussion: Aligning Efforts for Impact
During the session “Policies towards Actions: Aligning Efforts of Public Stakeholders on the International and National Level”, the discussion brought together representatives from the ministries of environment, energy, and prime minister’s offices of Slovenia, Montenegro, and Kosovo. The focus was on bridging international, national, and local levels of governance to turn policy ambitions into practical actions.

The conversation explored how to overcome institutional bottlenecks, strengthen funding mechanisms, and address governance gaps. TiCCA4Danu’s contribution, presented by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, emphasized the importance of translating strategies into local implementation. Examples included Local Green Deals (LGDs), City–Industry Dialogues, and mentoring schemes that help cities build partnerships, align local priorities, and drive tangible progress toward the green and circular transition.
Turning Discussion into Action
The panel underlined that multi-level governance, public-private cooperation, and citizen participation are essential to make climate action both inclusive and effective. Approaches such as participatory budgeting, pilot projects, and transparent communication were highlighted as key to fostering trust and ownership among stakeholders.
Marketplace of Good Practices
As part of the Marketplace of Good Practices, TiCCA4Danu presented how the project connects regional and national strategies to local resilience actions in the Danube Region. The interactive roundtable format enabled dialogue on linking funding mechanisms, connecting anchor and fellow cities, and building strong local–regional cooperationfor climate adaptation and the green transformation.
The Ljubljana conference once again demonstrated that collaboration, innovation, and inclusive governance are the keys to turning green policy ambitions into sustainable action.
